Our story began 6 years ago at an event in Sydney, where we both lived at the time. During those years we were lucky enough to spend one and a half of them backpacking around the world, with 3 of those months being spent in Ludo’s home country of Slovakia, a place now very dear to my heart. Fast forward a couple of years, we were back living in Sydney and had a little son, Sam. Soon after we decided to escape the rat race and move to Newcastle, my home town.

We are loving living a slightly slower pace of life here, watching our little man grow up (way to quickly!) and working on two businesses we’re extremely passionate about Ludo Petrik Wedding Photography & Poppyseed Photography

When you book a shoot with us Ludo will be the one behind the camera, the guy that’s always running around taking a thousand photos to make sure he doesn’t miss a moment, or the one guiding you on how to get the perfect shot you were after, always with a bit of laughter thrown in for good measure.

In the past I would laugh at the amount of photos he took, but over the years have come to realise this means he is able to capture some of the most beautiful memories and usually during times you had no idea he was there! To Ludo these are the best photos, they aren’t posed and are just of a time where you might have been wrapped up in a moment, just being you!

I’m Dani, the one that hates having her photo taken! Our years together have consisted of me whinging about always having a camera in my face when we’re out and about, but then changing my tune later on when he shows me the photos, which are usually pretty special! I’m the one you will chat to along the way to plan and organise your photoshoot.

The cute little man is our number one model – Sammy! He on the other hand, LOVES the camera. He can be grumpy as anything but put a camera in front of his face and he will completely turn it on and pull out the biggest smiles! Something we hope will continue throughout the years.
